What do you do at Inyova?
I work as a Lead Engineer.
My main priority is to lead and align the backend & devops engineering team with the company’s vision. I often collaborate with peers and leaders from other departments to deliver projects.
Currently I am working on the overall infrastructure design and architecture of our systems. I also drive the technical roadmap and inspire, mentor, and evaluate the engineering team.
As the company grows, an important aspect of my day to day is hiring qualified candidates to strengthen the company and team.
What motivated you to join Inyova?
Back in 2017 Inyova was only an idea, but an idea that could change the game of impact investing. The excitement of being able to be part of such a project made it an easy decision to join Inyova.
What surprised you the most during your first week at Inyova?
During that time we were working out of Impact Hub Zürich and it was my first time working in a co-working space. It was fascinating how many multidisciplinary projects were being cooked up in there. You felt like you were a part of all the other stories around – as if it were a community, and that really surprised me. It encouraged me to believe it was possible to achieve our goals too.
How would you describe your time at Inyova in three words?
What is the most valuable skill you have for working at Inyova and how did you develop it?
I think my most valuable skill for Inyova is my ability to pivot between different roles around technology. From the point where you are looking for a solution, until the implementation and its projection in the business afterwards.
When you work at a startup your role changes as the company develops. You learn to adapt and you’re always trying to stay up-to-date with the best practices in your discipline.
Can you share a story of a moment that has made your time at Inyova really special?
After almost 5 years at the company it’s really hard to pick only one story. But during the first year, I fondly remember Inyova as just an idea being prepared in a coworking space by a petit committee. During that time I really enjoyed the weekly Friday beer on the terrace of the Impact Hub after work.
If you could change one thing about your work at Inyova what would it be?
I would definitely have an office in Mallorca: close to my family, but still close to my peers 😉
What was your first success at Inyova?
I think the first achievement was when we developed and released the automation for the Portfolio generation engine (PIE).
What do you do when you are not working?
During the week I keep things calm. I’ll be at home with my girlfriend, choosing the next recipe we should try. During the weekends I go running in the mountains to prepare for my next race. But I always give myself time to relax and to enjoy a good filter coffe or beer in the city with friends.
